Civil society participation in implementing the strategic development framework of Herat city
Introducing the position of Herat City Strategic Development Framework (SDF) with different segments of society, civil society participation program (women, youth, educators and professionals) in implementing this plan with the presence of Gholam Hazrat Mushfeq, Mayor of Herat, Fereydoun Sarvari, Head of Urban Planning, Prof. Gholam Farooq Nadim, Adviser for Development and Reconstruction of the EU Support Program for Herat Municipality, Abdul Rahman Molavizadeh, Deputy Advisory Board, and a large gathering of civil society activists.
In today's program, the strategic development framework of Herat city is introduced to civil society activists and the role of youth in attracting macroeconomic investments and the realization of the principles of urban management for balanced urban development, "environmental, agricultural, social and economic" development, community flexibility, urban development Herat Discussion and exchange of views took place.
Ghulam Hazrat Mushfeq, Mayor of Herat, valued the participation of youth and women in development and economic fields and said that each section of Herat society has a significant role in implementing the principles of this plan to have an ideal and prosperous future.
The Mayor of Herat expressed his hope that "with the implementation of this future plan, the developed perspective of the city of Herat in the next 20 years is remarkable and this plan has provided us with the opportunity for joint action of the government and the people to serve each other."
Furthermore, Fereydoun Sarvari, the head of urban planning, stated that this plan was different from the master plan of Herat city, because in addition to the existence of the master plan in this strategic framework, it has included development beyond it in its content.
Also, Professor Gholam Farooq Nadim, Advisor for Development and Reconstruction of the "EU Support to Herat Municipality" program, while explaining the values of development plans in cities; Meeting the basic needs of the city, infrastructure development, economic growth, job creation, green space growth, gender, energy production (wind and solar), waste collection and recycling, reduction of environmental pollution and growth and development of agricultural businesses are among the achievements (short-term). , Medium and long term) stated the strategic development framework of Herat city.
