Herat Urban Master Plan Introduced at a Meeting Attended by Local Authorities, Municipality Officials, and Community Representatives from the City’s 15 Districts
The Herat Urban Master Plan was introduced at a meeting attended by local authorities, Herat Municipality officials, urban planning officials, religious scholars, university professors, community representatives, and heads of development councils from the 15 districts of Herat City. The plan was described by officials as a roadmap for the orderly, balanced, and forward-looking development of the city.
H.E. Al-Haj Mawlawi Hamdullah Nomani, Mayor of Herat, stated that the implementation of the Urban Master Plan will create opportunities to improve municipal services, develop infrastructure, better manage urban land, and establish greater order in the city’s development process.
Meanwhile, Abdullah Akbari, Head of Urban Planning in Herat, said that the plan defines the future development direction of the city and can help prevent uncontrolled and unplanned urban expansion.
Sheikh Mawlana Noor Ahmad Islamjar, Governor of Herat, also emphasized the importance of the Urban Master Plan, stating that its implementation will provide a foundation for the orderly development of the city and will play an important role in improving public services, developing the necessary infrastructure, and addressing the future needs of citizens.
At the same time, a number of university professors and community representatives welcomed the introduction of the Urban Master Plan, describing its implementation as an important step toward ensuring order, beauty, and balanced development in Herat City.
According to the officials involved in the preparation of the Urban Master Plan, Herat’s development needs and the city’s future vision have been taken into consideration. With its implementation, construction activities, infrastructure development, utilization of urban land, and delivery of municipal services will be pursued within the framework of an organized plan.
The Urban Master Plan is considered one of the fundamental documents for managing and guiding the development of cities. Its purpose is to establish urban order, prevent uncontrolled expansion, promote balanced development across urban areas, and provide suitable conditions for the expansion of infrastructure and public services.
The citizens of Herat also hope that the practical implementation of this plan will reduce existing challenges in urban development and create the conditions for a more organized, beautiful, and better-serviced city.
