Opening and Commencement of the Asphalt Paving and Road Subgrade Project on the Western Lane from Karabad Bridge to Baharistan Cemetery on Imam Bukhari (RA) Highway, with a Cost of Approximately AFN 29 Million from the Development Budget of Herat Municipa

The asphalt paving and road subgrade project on the western lane from Karabad Bridge to Baharistan Cemetery, located in District 4 of Herat City, was officially inaugurated and commenced. The project covers two lanes with a total length of 600 meters and a width of 10 meters and is being implemented in accordance with the road improvement plan, at a cost of AFN 28,892,010 from the development budget of Herat Municipality.

The project was inaugurated and commenced by Haji Mawlavi Hamdullah Nomani, Mayor of Herat, in the presence of Eng. Mohammad Ayub Saif-ul-Jihad, Director of Technical and Professional Affairs of Herat Municipality, heads of the Mayor’s Office, Monitoring and Evaluation, and District 4, local elders, community representatives, heads of development councils, and a number of relevant officials.

Officials of Herat Municipality described the implementation of this project as an important step toward improving road conditions, facilitating the movement of citizens, and developing urban infrastructure. They also emphasized maintaining quality and compliance with technical standards throughout the implementation of the project.

Meanwhile, residents of District 4 welcomed the commencement of the project, describing it as an important step toward improving road conditions, reducing transportation difficulties, and providing greater convenience for citizens and vehicles. They expressed hope that the project would be completed to a high standard within the specified timeframe and put into operation.

The representative of the contracted company also assured that the project would be implemented in accordance with the technical specifications, with the required quality and within the specified timeframe.

It is worth noting that the project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation within five calendar months by Kohankar Construction and Road-Building Company.
