Herat Mayor Inaugurates and Opens the Asphalt Road Project at the End of Erfan Township with a Cost of AFN 4 Million
The asphalt road project at the end of Erfan Township, including the construction of drainage channels on both sides of the road, located in District 6 of Herat City, has been completed and officially inaugurated and opened for public use. The project covers a length of 290 meters and an effective width of 7 meters, with a total cost of AFN 4 million funded from the development budget of Herat Municipality.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Haji Mawlawi Hamdullah Nomani, Mayor of Herat; Eng. Mohammad Ayub Saif-ul-Jihad, Director of Technical and Professional Affairs of Herat Municipality; officials from the Mayor’s Office and District 6; the General Manager of Engineering; local elders; representatives of neighborhood blocks; and members of local development councils.
Municipal officials said that the project was implemented to improve road conditions, facilitate transportation for residents, and provide better urban services.
They emphasized that Herat Municipality is working to implement infrastructure and development projects to provide residents of different districts with access to standard roads and improved urban services.
Meanwhile, a number of residents of Erfan Township welcomed the completion and opening of the project, describing the asphalt paving of the road as an effective step toward improving transportation conditions, facilitating movement, and enhancing their quality of life. They also expressed their appreciation to Herat Municipality for its attention to the balanced development of different parts of the city.
Officials of the contracting company also stated that the project was completed in accordance with technical standards and to the required quality.
It is worth mentioning that the project was completed within more than one month by Bonyad Saz Kohan Construction and Road Construction Company in accordance with the technical specifications and has been officially opened for public use.
