Herat Mayor and Accompanying Delegation Inaugurate and Launch the Construction of the Injil Canal Retaining Wall Project in the Eleventh Municipal District, Valued at Approximately AFN 3.6 Millio.n
The construction of the Injil Canal retaining wall project, located in the First and Second Neighborhoods of the Eleventh Municipal District of Herat City, was officially inaugurated and commenced by H.E. Alhaj Mawlawi Hamdullah Nomani, Mayor of Herat. The project, which extends over a length of 650 meters and is funded through Herat Municipality’s development budget at a cost of AFN 3,554,145, was launched in the presence of Engineer Mohammad Ayub Saif-ul-Jihad, Head of the Technical and Professional Department, the Head of the Eleventh Municipal District, community elders, neighborhood representatives, heads of development councils, and a number of local residents. The project will be implemented by Estewar Sazan Construction Company.
The project is being implemented to prevent erosion along the canal banks, manage surface water, reduce the risks associated with seasonal flooding, and protect urban infrastructure.
Meanwhile, a number of residents of the Eleventh Municipal District welcomed the launch of the project, describing it as an effective initiative to improve the safety of the area, prevent flood-related damages, and enhance urban infrastructure. They also expressed their full support and cooperation for the municipality’s development programs.
The officials of the contracting company assured participants that the project would be completed in accordance with the approved technical standards, with high quality, and within the timeframe specified in the contract.
The project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation within three calendar months.
